I love Chrome… for the most part. It is my default browser, but lately I have learned that Chrome does not play nice with lots of other kids in the tech yard.
Today I downloaded a zip file. I noticed that once I did, the file was no longer a zip but a .zip.crdownload. I tried to unarchive it – no luck. I changed the file name and removed the .crdownload part so it was now a .zip – but still unarchivable.
After a bit of googling I learned that it was likely a Chrome issue (guess the .cr in .crdownload stands for Chrome). So I dropped the download link in Firefox and was able to download and unzip it successfully. No issues with Firefox.
If you’re a Zazzler, there is also some glitch in the matrix when trying to add products to Zazzle stores in Chrome. When I get to the point in the process where I have to choose categories, the fly-out category window shows up blank so I cannot select anything. When I try to select the category in my shop, it only shows me a few not all. Since this is a required action to move forward, it can be frustrating after having spent the time to add products and then having to abort the process. Now I only use Firefox to work in my shops to make products and there are no issues.
