Groundhog Sees His Shadow on Groundhog Day 2012

Happy Groundhog day!

This morning in Punxsutawney Pennsylvania, Punxsutawney Phil, the cute little rodent we all have come to rely on for predicting winter weather, let us know that the frigid frost is not going away soon.

Despite the fact that it was a spring-like 61 degrees in New York City yesterday, the groundhog saw his shadow which means 6 more weeks of winter. Many east coasters say, if that means another 6 weeks of temperatures in the 40s and no snow, bring it.

Winter hasn’t so much felt like winter, but that could all change according to Phil the pint-sized predictor of weather.
